Hating on S-bux
It feels good to have a consistent seasonal food to feel warm/fuzzy about every year, like PSL, but I’m kind of relieved the nation is getting over the hype, and that I’m seeing speculation like this. I admit I frequent Starbucks enough to have earned a gold card, but today, I received an email advertising the onset of their red cups. Anyone else think it’s funny they’re sending emails advertising the packaging of their drinks?? What a reflection of Starbucks’ perception of their customer base, and our culture! And hey, maybe with the analytics they have their hands on, they’re spot on. In my case, I care about the product being served, but the mere fact that it’s my first chance to buy it in a red cup is not enough reason to come in. In Starbucks’ defense, right below was a summary of their holiday beverage offerings, but still…
